Why Choose Miss Samantha Tross
Transcript
When choosing an orthopaedic surgeon, you deserve someone you can trust who will make you feel well looked after. Experience, clinical skill, and a careful approach to decision-making matter deeply when considering treatment for hip, and knee conditions. I became a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2005 - and specialise in hip and knee conditions, robotic surgery, and minimally invasive surgery. I qualified fromUniversity College London and trained on the South East Thames London rotation; as well as in Toronto, Canada; and Sydney, Australia - gaining expertise in primary and revision hip and knee replacement. Also arthroscopic surgery, and minimally invasive techniques. This international training equips me to offer evidence-based treatments tailored to your individual needs. As the first black woman to become a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in the UK, I have faced many challenges throughout my career. These experiences have made me contemplative, clinically skilled and risk averse. Qualities that benefit you when we work together to form a treatment plan. Also, in 2018, I became the first woman in Europe to perform Mako robotic hip surgery and embrace new technologies to improve your surgical outcome. My NHS practice is based at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. I work privately at the Cromwell Hospital; Clementine Churchill Hospital; and Chiswick Medical Centre; Fortius clinic - and Lycahealth Canary Wharf. This dual practice keeps me at the forefront of surgical innovation whilst maintaining commitment to accessible NHS care. I work collaboratively as part of a surgical network and multidisciplinary team. When required, I can access wider consensus opinion to ensure you receive the most appropriate care. I am also actively involved in surgical education and training, and am currently on the Council of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. I am an external examiner for the University of the West Indies Medical School. I also am Founder Member of the British Association of Black Surgeons, Secretary for the International Orthopaedic Diversity Alliance, and Trustee for the British Caribbean Doctors and Dentists Association. I also have a Masters in Strategic Leadership and Honorary Doctor of Arts from Portsmouth University. Patients consistently describe me as professional, caring, and informative. My goal is relieving your pain whilst restoring confidence, mobility, and quality of life. To discuss your treatment options, please contact my secretary Ms Maya Rahman.
